Mario Moreira elected President of the Pasteur Network Board

On April 4, 2025, Mario Moreira was elected President of the Pasteur Network Board.
He succeeds Amadou Sall, CEO of the Institut Pasteur de Dakar (Sénégal).

About Mario Moreira 
Mario Moreira is the President of Fiocruz (Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
Fiocruz is recognized for its leadership in scientific research, vaccine production and innovation, disease control, and surveillance – contributions that have been particularly impactful for historically marginalized and vulnerable populations.
At Fiocruz since 1994, Mario Moreira holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Federal University of Paraná, with a doctoral internship at the University of Coimbra, in Portugal, a Master’s in Public Health from the Sergio Arouca National School of Public Health (Ensp/Fiocruz) and in Technologies and Innovation from the University of Sussex, UK. He is also a specialist in Public Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. In 2017, he became vice president of Management and Institutional Development at Fiocruz, a position that became executive director last year.
