Project
Collective Action on Dengue (CAD)
A global initiative designed to strengthen and scale up integrated efforts to control dengue in the context of climate change.

The challenge
Dengue is the world’s fastest-spreading mosquito-borne disease, and climate change is accelerating its global transmission, shifting endemic zones and burdening health systems. In this evolving context, dengue requires urgent, coordinated, and cross-sectoral global action.
What we do
The Collective Action on Dengue (CAD) is a neutral, multisector platform that unites innovators, policymakers, funders, and implementers under one integrated mandate: to align dengue strategies with climate and urban agendas.
The CAD aims to amplify proven solutions, consolidate evidence, and center country and regional voices so local realities inform policies and ensure integrated approaches to dengue become part of broader climate–health resilience strategies. CAD operates through three thematic working groups—Urbanization, Finance, and Innovation—with advocacy and climate as cross-cutting enablers.
Mission
Accelerate integrated efforts to control dengue – acknowledging the increasing impact of climate change – through collective action among diverse stakeholders.
Objectives
- Increase attention and action on dengue control through strategic advocacy and communications
- Facilitate coordination and information sharing among the dengue community
- Facilitate collaboration and resource mobilization on specific initiatives (e.g., local demonstration projects, policy positions)
Approach
The CAD drives field level impact by amplifying proven solutions and consolidating evidence into durable, investment-ready goods. By centering country and regional voices, CAD ensures that local realities inform global policy, and that integrated approaches to dengue become part of broader climate-health resilience strategies.
How we work
The work of the CAD is operationalized through the 3 working groups

Urbanization
Bridges public health, climate, and urban planning.

Innovation
Promotes innovations and effective economic models

Financing
Identifies funding pathways to support dengue response.
CAD’s Unique Value Proposition
CAD connects and amplifies existing efforts, elevating proven tools, evidence, and approaches into climate-resilience agendas without duplicating or replacing them.

Convener
Bringing together diverse partners
Unites diverse stakeholders across sectors and regions, centering country and regional voices to align and share knowledge.

Clearing house
Consolidating evidence to inform decision-making
Centralizes access and standardizes decision-making across dengue interventions and transforms cross-sector data into actionable intelligence.

Catalyst
Driving projects toward impactful policy outcomes
Translates evidence into compelling narratives and investment pathways that mobilize resources and drive cross-sector action.

Amplifier
