About

Pasteur Institute Nha Trang was founded by Dr. Alexandre Yersin in 1895, remembered as the first scientist that discovered the bacillus bubonic plague Yersinia pestis.
In 1975, the Institute was integrated into the Preventive Medicine system under the Ministry of Health of Vietnam. The Institute has the function of organizing and implementing activities and project programs in the field of public health and preventive medicine in the provinces of the Central region (from Quang Binh to Binh Thuan). Scientific research; training, retraining, and fostering medical human resources; professional guidance at lower levels; international cooperation; providing services in the field of public health and preventive medicine to meet social needs according to the provisions of law.
