Evolving the Pasteur Network Visual Identity: Closer to Who We Are

19 June 2026

The Pasteur Network brings together 32 member institutes across 25 countries, with very different profiles and backgrounds, and a majority of members based in the Global South. This evolution of our visual identity is an opportunity to bring our visuals closer to that reality, to who we are, and what we stand for.

Four choices to align our visual identity with our values.

The logo.

We build on our Pasteurian heritage and affirm the strength of the collective. The NETWORK is slightly more visible, and a graphic motif runs through the whole system, a circle symbolizing connection, diversity and continuity.

The map.

We’re adopting an equal map, a projection that respects true geographical proportions. Several institutions around the world, including the African Union and several academic institutions, have made this same choice as a meaningful commitment to equity. We want to be part of that movement, because it reflects something we genuinely believe in.

Our tagline.

Louis Pasteur once said: “Science knows no country.” It speaks to our Pasteurian identity, to the idea that science belongs to everyone, that knowledge is shared across borders. It was right there all along.

The illustrations.

Rather than generic photography, we chose hand-drawn illustrations. Different kind of profiles, from many different backgrounds and cultures, drawn with care, reflecting the real diversity of the people that make up the Pasteur Network.

This branding will be rolled out progressively across our communication materials. We’ll share all the assets so that every member of the Network can use them.

This visual identity was created by talented illustrator and designer, Jonathan Blezard. You can explore his work here: https://www.instagram.com/jonathanblezard/
