Animal House and Vectopole

Under the Laboratory Animals Act, the laboratory registered with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) facilities as well as ABSL2 facilities capable of animal testing using risk-grade 2 and 3 pathogens. The Animal Experimental Ethics Committee (IACUC) is registered and operated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and has a dedicated animal group to oversee mouse. hamster, rat, and experimental technology education. Animal purification, freezing and preserving of animal resources, and embryo transplantation technologies can reliably maintain experimental animal resources such as transformation mice. It is possible to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity test of new compounds using animal models and to study various infection mechanisms.

Biosafety Level 3 Laboratory (BSL-3); Korea's first state-approved third-class bio-safety research facility (approved by the Korea Centers for Disease Control in 2009 and reaffirmed in 2012 and 2015) deals with serious or fatal diseases such as tuberculosis bacteria, avian influenza human infection virus, SARS, Covid-19.
